Year 4

Year 4 Art Week

Year 4 started Art Week i n an enviable way, with a trip to the zoo. Their project for the week is to create vibrant botanical drawings in pastels, so they spent some time observing and sketching the herbaceous border. On Wednesday they will use these sketches to make their final pictures which they will frame colourfully on Friday and display as a gallery leading to the secret garden, the inspiration for their project. Year 4 have been developing the garden over the year and have worked through the many stages of gardening: clearing, sweeping, digging, sowing, planting, nurturing, watering (a lot!), harvesting and eating. They have experienced how the garden links communities of plants and animals and humans, and in the process have created their own community of gardeners. Their artwork will reflect this!
