Events

PTAF events are scheduled and agreed at regular committee meetings, which are open for all parents, teachers, and friends of the school to attend. Events are planned at committee meetings, and by volunteers and sub-committees supported by the PTAF. Tickets (where appropriate) are sold before and after school in the playground.

Unless special arrangements have been agreed by the committee, any funds raised are by default collected by the PTAF, and distributed with reference to the Governing Body’s priorities, according to Funding Requests discussed at the regular committee meetings. For more information see minutes of meetings, and published accounts.

Below is a (not exhaustive) list of events that typically feature on the PTAF calendar. Dates are published as and when available:

  • Carols by Candlelight (usually held in The Elmgrove Centre in early December 2010 at 7 pm)

  • Christmas Tree sale (in the school all day, early December)
  • Tea & Cakes sales  (about monthly, on a Friday after school, one for each Year Group in descending order  from Year 6. These are usually organized by Class Reps, followed by one for Special Educational Needs organized by volunteers from all years. Proceeds are given directly to class teachers and SENCO)
  • Spring/Summer Fair
  • Bouncy Castle at Redland May Fair
  • Art Week (funded by PTAF)
  • Barn Dance
  • Ice Cream sales (on Fridays after school, with help from Year 6 pupils, to raise funds for Year 6 leavers’ Yearbooks)
